Barwood Capital's Fund Raiser Reaches £3,485 Thanks to its Whole Team

A Fundraise Which Aims to Make a Difference

Barwood Capital has raised £3,485 thanks to its whole team which walked, ran and cycled a combined distance of 1,050 miles over two weeks. The original goal was 590 miles from their most southern property at Selsey to the most northern one at Dundee and to raise £2,500 but together the team exceeded its targets by 460 miles and £985. The miles that the team exercised each day were collated on Strava.

The Northampton Hope Centre’s work helps people experiencing the most acute problems of disadvantage, exclusion and marginalisation. As well as giving practical support, they focus on helping people to help themselves, providing support and services that will enable individuals to take back control of their own lives, and campaign with them against the causes of their disadvantage. Barwood Capital has been supporting Northampton Hope Centre since 2018.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the charity has been asking for donations of food, toiletries and bedding for their day centres and foodclub, along with fundraising, as 98% of their funding comes from the public volunteers.

Louise Danielczuk, fundraising and marketing manager, Northampton Hope Centre said: “We are so grateful to everyone at Barwood Capital for raising an absolutely incredible amount of money. We can’t believe it and it will make such a difference to so many people. We currently have 91 people in hotels across Northampton and are delivering about 150 food parcels each and every week, which equates to 400 people being supported through food parcels. So the money that the team has raised and the food that they’ve collected and donated has made a huge, huge difference to people. Thank you.”

Danielle Sheppard, senior investment director, Barwood Capital added: “The Hope Centre is close to our hearts. They have been serving the community of Northampton for 45 years. From their beginnings feeding the homeless in the town, they have evolved into a much wider charity, helping in all sorts of ways. They do such brilliant work and we were determined to pull together to help raise vital funds during this time. The team has smashed the targets! Thank you to everyone who supported us in our fundraising, and we hope that it goes some way to helping the brilliant Northampton Hope Centre.”
